Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell announced yesterday afternoon that the state will cover Mr. Svonavec's security costs for the next two years, thus eliminating the need for a donation box. The state is providing a grant in the amount of $210,000.
Hopefully by then construction of a permanent memorial will be started.
